Check the main hose from end to end after removing the 3 screws that hold it to the body of the vacuum near the handle. If that's clear then it's almost certainly clogged in the short tube that goes from the beater bar housing to the hose extension (where the flex tube attaches). There are two ways of going about this. Option 2 (the way I did it) -- Lock the base on the upright position and turn the unit over. Unscrew the 12 or so screws in the black base.
